Winter has been getting most people down (I’m usually one of those people as i long for summer before it even ends). However this year I’ve been pretty good, until today... I saw these pics of my cuzy’s and started longing for the hot summer days and the beautiful, magical light. Yum!

Being a hospo girl of course I’m a fan of the old whiskey sour. It’s a drink one savours while reminiscing on the activities from the evening. So when my friend Milked started her blog the whiskey bar I was stoked as not only is it a chance to chew the fat on the yarns of life it sets the tones on the types of yarns one will have. Not only is drinking whiskey is one of my favourite past times but drinking whiskey while listening to Morris spine a yarn or two just hits the spot. I guarantee Milked’s dry, witty sense of humour will defiantly lighten ones heart and will constantly remind us all of the humorous side to life.
So as a hobby I work hospo. I have worked hospo as long as I can remember and when i walk into a bar I feel at home (yes this maybe a sign of an alcoholic... ) So today I competed in the stellar draught masters regional comps for 09 and I’m off to Auckland. Basically it’s a Belgium beer pouring comp that they hold worldwide. The national finals are in Auckland at the food show on July the 31st and the world comp in New York. So if you are around make sure you pop along and watch us do our thing. I have a bit of brushing up to do as I only work at Leuven part time so we will have to see how it all goes. (i’m sure I will keep you posted :)) The other winning participant was Sam from Hummingbird. Aucklanders have been the ones to take out the comp in the past but this year I’m hoping for a Welly participant. Good luck Sam.
Some of you will remember my fascination with French musicians earlier in the year. My crush continues with the discover of Sliimy. Described here as the “male version of Lily Allen” he was discovered with his remix of Womanizer. Below is his 2nd single release wakeup.
And can I just say how nice it is to see colour for a change. Welcome back the 80’s!

Look at these amazing lamps. They're stunning!
Done by artist Michael Yabsley and sold through his site Wombat Hollow. They are all one off pieces making them more like pieces of art. I just love the mix between fabric/ feathers and teh construction of man-made objects. Stunning

Secondly of the wranglers campaign I mention earlier in the week.
Their thoughts are someone else's opinions
Their lives a mimicry,
their passions a quotation"
