I have been a busy bee this last week but with it being a long weekend I’m super excited about sitting down and catching up on a few things like the blogs I love to follow, a few postings, catching up with friends, baking yummy things and general business that is on my list... gosh, where to start where to start.! However I always have time to pop by the lovely daydream lily :) .Above are a couple of pics from a recent posting of hers.
Happy weekend sweet things x

brain dump

I love this site! So many wonderful ideas and such a nice simple way of presenting them. It’s also a good feeling to get ideas (no matter how crazy or bland) out of your head and onto paper as well. stealourideas.com is a blog written by Adam noel and Jon Kubik, who recently left the agency world.

high tea

I’m stoked to hear find a place that does high tea in Wellington. High teas are an extremely popular Sunday session event overseas; featuring cucumber sandwiches, peti fours and champagne but not so much here. We had a lovely little high tea celebration for a girl at work last week as well. It seems they’re catching on. I have always wanted to open my own little cafe with it being known for high teas (one of my many career paths) but now I can just visit Martha’s Pantry on the top of Cuba street. Check out a full review here.

out for mainteinance

Sorry no Tuesday crunch post this week as we heart it is down  So I explored flickr and found the 254th image from the unloads of the day instead.

This image reminds me of the water lilies in Thailand. I still haven’t sorted through those photos... opps. So here are a couple.

I also wanted to share this other cute image from Jueno [Ricee]’s stream. I think I like it because it reminds me of home and how I miss having animals around me.

an early spring?

Tulips must be being imported at the moment as they are popping up in all the stores. I couldn’t resist buying some on the weekend. I just love how emotional tulips are, they open and close according to the amount of sunlight they get. And i just love the orangey pink colour of these ones.

I see the cherry blossom girl also has a soft spot for them too.
Which reminds me I should really plant some bolds this weekend... I never have very good luck with plants in my apartment, my father always laughs at me as he has a way with potted plants that defiantly wasn’t pasted down to me. I don’t know why I can’t grow them. But after 4 years of apartment living I’m still not giving up! This year I will succeed!.. I hope :-)

being a home maker

I was emailed this cut out from the 50’s after I mentioned that I spent my weekend doing wholesome things; cleaning, baking, cooking, sewing and crafts. I may have also mentioned my love for ironing... probably not wise when working in an office...

My old flat mate and I use to joke about how we would love to be house wives, but only out of choice. If we were ever told we had to be we would through our iron’s aside and march into the work force J I can’t believe this kind of thing was actually in a magazine, it seems ridiculous.

downunder talent

I recently ran into this wonderful blog downunder talent, written by Julia; Interior designer and finder of cool and creative stuff in Australia and New Zealand. Recent posts include:

Perth illustrator Megan Isabella

Letter Press prints

And she also gave us (the farmers’ daughters) a lovely little mention as well.

Defiantly a blog to keep your eye on if you want to keep your finger on the pulse.

amazing color

Desert Storm

Black Lava Glass

Aqua

These are amazing photos by Clarke Little. He captures colour, emotion and texture beautifully. But I especially like how well titles are extremely descriptive of the image.
Loads more here.

sweetness and smiles

Today I was taken by too many images to choose so I just have to share them all with you as they have lifted my spirit and made me smile. Teacups, flowers, girly patterns and retro styles make me all warm and fuzzy inside. This is the point of the tuesday crunch.

I’m particularly drawn to this one, especially after being at home on the farm this week, it reminds me of autumn and duck shooting mornings. The photo has captured the light and atmosphere of the autumn mornings we are having at the moment.

At home the morning sun streamed into the house in a similar fashion. I sat in it inside staring out dreamily at the pond in my blue striped winter nighty hearing the echoes of shot guns; the boys popping off ducks down at the river. Oh it’s always good to come home to the farm.

I also love my Mother’s dinner set. It’s so pretty and sweet. I especially love that the collection is called sweetpea

Ah the small things

A couple of little things that I enjoyed on the weekend and put a smile on my face.

1- Seeing my $8 rip off shoes I got for Thailand in Overlands for $ 100. Everything is exactly the same except the brand on the inner sole. Ah I love the way my pretty white shoes look in the grass. I feel like a kid again, so giddy with silliness and filled with joy.

2- The comforting Autumn clouds. They are always so full and crisp against the tinkling, streaming sun light at this time of year.

I hope you all had lovely moments like these in your weekends xxx Ah the small things
